Tree Dance explores the intersection of ecology, technology and culture.
We do this primarily by curating articles, videos and other media here and sharing what we find on our social channels.
Twice a month we write a deep thought and distribute it via our newsletter.
Tree Dance is a small thing and a larger idea. It’s a solo project and a collaborative idea. It’s part meditation, part celebration and part deliberation on pulling back from the velocity of contemporary (urban, developed economy) living. Tree Dance currently comes to you from the woods along the Connecticut-Rhode Island border.
This web site is largely curatorial. We look for stories and ideas that make us think or laugh or cry or jump up and down inside. In particular, the individual items we share here hopefully surface the larger intersection of ecology, technology and culture in which we live.
Twice a month we send out a newsletter where we concretize what we’ve seen and read. If curiosity lead you to these words, we think you’ll like the words you find there. Give it a try.
Like most things, we’re starting small. This web site is just the start of it.
We write this from the woods along the Connecticut-Rhode Island border where we’re cleaning up a 30-acre woodland property. Our goal is to turn this into a cultural space for the thinkers, farmers, artists, writers, musicians and the generally curious who are working together to overcome 21st century anxieties, or to at least abide (and improve) them collectively.
We plan to produce and host workshops, and work with others to create a retreat where thinkers and makers can focus on what they’re producing or to simply rest their minds.
If this sparks your curiosity and you’re interested in learning more, please say hello.
